App development

Software, designed and built to do real work.

Web apps, internal tools, dashboards, and AI-powered products — built on a modern engineering stack by a studio that ships and runs its own software. From a single tool that kills a painful workflow to a full product, we design it, build it, and make sure it holds up in production.

Most software projects don’t fail because the code is hard. They fail because nobody scoped the real problem, the build drifted, and the thing that shipped was either too much or beside the point. We work the other way — small, clear pieces with one job each, shaped before a line is written.

We build web applications, internal tools, dashboards, and AI-powered products for companies that need custom software and want it done by people who have to live with what they ship. Everything runs on a modern stack — AI woven in where it earns its keep, not sprinkled on top.

And we’re not theorizing. Baldwin Digital designs, builds, and runs its own products in production — so the apps we build for you are built the way software is built when someone has to maintain it.

What we build

01

Web apps & products

Customer-facing applications and SaaS products — from a focused MVP that proves the idea to a multi-tenant product with accounts, billing, and real users. Built to scale without a rewrite.

02

Internal tools

The unglamorous software that runs a business — intake, routing, reporting, ops dashboards, and the automations that remove the manual work nobody should still be doing by hand.

03

AI-powered features

Assistants, document and data processing, and AI built into the product itself. The kind of feature that does actual work — answering, qualifying, summarizing, deciding — not a chatbot bolted to a corner.

What we build

From one stubborn workflow to a full product.

Different problems, same approach: scope it tightly, build it cleanly, and make sure it holds up once real people are using it every day.

MVPs

MVPs & prototypes

The smallest version that proves the idea and gets in front of real users fast. We build to learn, then expand based on what actually happens — not a year-long bet placed before anyone has used it.

Products

Customer-facing web apps

Accounts, dashboards, billing, multi-tenant data, the works. Designed for the people who use it and engineered for the people who have to keep it running.

Internal

Internal tools & automations

Software that takes manual, repetitive work off your team — intake, routing, scheduling, reporting — and quietly does it in the background.

Dashboards

Dashboards & reporting

The numbers that matter, in one place, updated automatically. Less time pulling data into spreadsheets, more time acting on it.

AI

AI features & agents

LLM-powered assistants, processing, and automations built into the product — using Claude and modern tooling, wired into your real data and workflows.

Integrations

Integrations & APIs

Connecting the tools you already use — CRMs, accounting, scheduling, phone — so data moves on its own instead of through copy-paste.

How the work runs

Discover. Design. Build. Optimize.

The same disciplined sequence on every project. Some steps stretch when the problem is fuzzy; others compress when it’s already sharp. The order doesn’t change.

  1. Discover

We map the real problem, the people who’ll use the thing, and where software (and AI) actually moves the needle. We’d rather cut scope here than build the wrong feature well.

    Scope & spec
  2. Design

We shape the product — the flows, the interface, and the system behind it — into small pieces with clear jobs. Catching the structure here saves weeks of rework later.

    Flows & architecture
  3. Build

Hand-built on a modern stack — typed, tested where it counts, and documented. AI features wired into real data, not demo data. You see working software early and often.

    Next.js · TypeScript · Postgres · LLMs
  4. Optimize

We ship, watch how it behaves with real use, and keep improving — performance, reliability, and the next most valuable thing to build. Then we hand off cleanly if that’s the plan.

    Ship & iterate
We build software the way people who have to run it build it — because we run our own. That changes every decision, from the data model to the day you take it over.
William Baldwin — Baldwin Digital

Proof

We ship our own software.

The clearest signal that we can build your product is that we’ve built and put our own into production — and we keep them running.

AI product

LeadVault

An AI phone receptionist that answers calls, qualifies the lead, and delivers a structured summary by email. A real product with real accounts, built and operated in-house. See LeadVault →

Web app

Availability tracker

A multi-tenant web app that pulls rental and booking availability across channels into one place. Designed, built, and run as a productized tool — the kind of build we do for clients.

The point

Built by operators

When the people building your software also maintain software in production, you get cleaner data models, fewer dead ends, and a handoff that actually works.

App projects are scoped per project — an internal tool and a customer-facing product are different sizes of work. We map the build and quote it directly, with no surprise line items.

FAQ

App development questions.

What kinds of apps do you build?

Web applications, internal tools, dashboards, customer-facing products, and AI-powered features — from a single tool that automates a painful workflow to a full multi-tenant product. We focus on web-based software rather than native mobile apps.

Do you build AI into the apps?

Yes. AI is the through-line of how we work. We build assistants, automations, and AI features directly into the products we ship — part of how the app does its job, not a bolt-on. See AI consulting & integration.

What technology do you use?

A modern, real engineering stack — Next.js, TypeScript, React, Node, and Postgres — with Claude and other LLM tooling for AI features. No low-code page builders. We write the code, so it stays fast, secure, and easy to hand off.

Can you build an MVP or prototype first?

Yes. For new products we usually start with a focused MVP — the smallest version that proves the idea and gets in front of real users — then expand based on what we learn instead of guessing at scope up front.

Do you actually run software, or just build it?

We run our own. Baldwin Digital builds and operates its own products in production, including LeadVault (an AI phone receptionist) and a multi-tenant availability tracker. We build apps the way people who maintain them do — because we do.

How much does an app cost?

App projects are scoped individually because they vary widely. We scope each project and quote it directly. Start a project and we’ll map the work and give you a clear number.

Will I own the code?

Yes. You get full ownership of the code and infrastructure. We build cleanly and document the handoff so your team — or another developer — can run it without us.

Have something in mind?

Start a project. Tell us what you’re building.

A product, an internal tool, an AI feature, or just a workflow that’s eating your team alive — tell us where you are and where you want to be. We’ll tell you straight whether we’re the right studio for it, and what it would take.
