Process

Discover. Design. Build. Optimize.

One disciplined cycle on every engagement — whether we’re building an AI tool, an app, a website, or ranking you in search. Discover finds the leverage. Design shapes it. Build ships it. Optimize compounds it. The work changes; the method doesn’t.

The cycle, in detail

What actually happens in each phase.

01
Phase 1 — Discover

We find the leverage before we build anything.

Every engagement starts by mapping the real problem — the business, the market, the people who’ll use the thing, and where AI and software genuinely move the needle. We’d rather cut scope here than build the wrong thing well.

What that looks like depends on the work. For an SEO engagement it’s a written audit scored out of 100, a competitor landscape for your top queries, and a prioritized fix list. For an app or AI build it’s a tight scope and spec — what gets built, what doesn’t, and why. Either way, you get a clear plan ordered by impact before a dollar goes into building.

Typical timeline: a few days to a week
02
Phase 2 — Design

We shape the work into small pieces with clear jobs.

Before code, we design the thing — the page structure and flow for a site, the screens and data model for an app, the workflow and guardrails for an AI build. Structure first, then the visual layer built against real content, not Lorem-ipsum mockups.

This is where we lock heading hierarchy, the conversion path, the system boundaries, and how a human stays in the loop where it matters. Catching structural problems here saves weeks of rework after something ships.

Structure, then visual design
03
Phase 3 — Build

We hand-build it on a modern stack.

Sites and apps are hand-coded with semantic HTML, modern CSS, and minimal JavaScript — no page builders, no theme bloat. Accessibility (WCAG AA contrast, keyboard navigation, alt text) and SEO structure (schema, metadata, clean URLs) are baked into the components, not retrofitted. AI features are wired into real data and tools, not a sandbox.

For SEO engagements, the build brings the site, schema, Google Business Profile, and citations up to a competitive baseline — including a rebuild on a clean static foundation when the current platform is fighting the work. You see working software early and often.

Next.js · TypeScript · Postgres · Claude & LLM tooling

Phase 4 — Optimize

We ship, measure, and keep improving.

Launch isn’t the finish line. We watch how the work behaves with real use and keep improving it — performance, reliability, conversions, and the next most valuable thing to build.

For SEO, that’s the monthly cadence that compounds: new pages targeting real queries from Search Console and DataForSEO, Google Business Profile management, citation expansion, and a monthly report showing what shipped and how impressions and rankings moved. No vanity metrics, no filler dashboards. For product work, it’s tuning against real usage — then a clean handoff when that’s the plan.

Ongoing: ship, measure, improve

Honest framing: project work — a site, an app, an AI build — has a defined scope and a timeline we set up front. Search results are different. Organic SEO takes three to six months at minimum to compound, and competitive markets take longer. Google Business Profile can move faster — sometimes inside thirty days — but Google controls the timeline. Some industries (medical, legal, financial) take longer because the trust signals required to rank are heavier. We tell you which bucket your work sits in before you sign anything.

What we promise — and what we don't

Six operational commitments. Real and finite.

These are the boundaries every Baldwin Digital engagement runs inside. They're listed up front so nothing about how this works is a surprise.

Two-business-day response

Inbound emails get a real reply inside two business days. Faster on weekdays, same day on most.

No recurring strategy calls

Communication runs over email so the work stays the work. Calls happen when something specific needs them.

GBP timeline disclaimer

Google Business Profile changes are at Google's discretion. Most index inside thirty days; some take longer.

GA4 form & tel events only

We track form submissions and tel: clicks. We do not run user-level recordings, heatmaps, or attribution platforms.

DataForSEO + GSC reporting

Reports are sourced from Google Search Console and DataForSEO rank tracking. No black-box dashboards, no fabricated metrics.

Netlify on your account

Hosting runs on Netlify under your own account. You own the deployment, the domain, and the source code throughout.

Stack: hand-built HTML, CSS, and vanilla JS. No framework lock-in. Site files belong to you.
